Experiencing Natural Farming

202106.01

I was born and raised a city boy, but for the first time in my life, I planted rice.

This was the first time in my life that I had planted rice, and it was all done by hand.

I treaded through the mud with my feet, plowed the paddies, and planted the seedlings by hand.

In between, I frolicked with worms and insects, and smelled mud for the first time in decades.

Lunch was delicious, and the afternoon work made me feel a little sleepy.

When I got home in the evening, I cleaned off the mud and had a full dinner, which was also delicious.

I had a good, wild day.

Next year, we are going to try growing our own rice.

For the future of these children, I want to create an environment that they can enjoy as much as possible.
